About Solandra maxima (Moc. & Sessé) P.S.Green

It is a fast-growing climbing vine that grows 12 m (39 ft) tall, and occasionally can reach up to 50 m (160 ft) in length. It is often pruned back in cultivation to form a shrub with overhanging twigs. Its leaves are alternately arranged, with shapes ranging from broad-elliptical to oblong. They measure 5-18 cm long and 2-9 cm wide, have a leathery texture, are glossy on the upper surface, and usually end in a short acuminate tip. All parts of this plant are poisonous.
