It can be found in the Colombian departments of Valle del Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, and Chocó, as well as the Ecuadorian provinces of Pichincha, Carchi, Imbabura, and Cotopaxi. It occurs at elevations ranging from 500 to 2000 meters.
