About Sisyrinchium striatum Sm.
Sisyrinchium striatum Sm. is a plant that grows to a height of 70–90 centimetres, or 28–35 inches. It produces an erect stem, with a clump of grey-green, sword-shaped alternate leaves. It also bears several clusters of cup-shaped creamy white flowers, which have six tepals and golden centers. In the northern hemisphere, this species blooms from May to June. It is native to Argentina and Chile, where it grows in alpine grasslands, open woods, and meadows.
