About Silphium mohrii Small

Silphium mohrii, commonly called Mohr's rosinweed and shaggy rosinweed, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the Southeastern United States, where its native range is limited to northern Alabama, southern Tennessee, and extreme northwest Georgia. It grows naturally in prairie remnants and rocky limestone openings. Due to its restricted range and severely declined habitat, it is classified as a vulnerable species. It produces clusters of yellow flowers in late summer.
