About Silene uralensis (Rupr.) Bocquet

Silene uralensis (Rupr.) Bocquet can be recognized by its tufts of basal leaves, thick taproot, and inflated flowers that vary in color from white to purple. This species is divided into three subspecies: Silene uralensis subsp. uralensis, Silene uralensis subsp. ogilviensis, and Silene uralensis subsp. porsildii. Some taxonomic treatments consider Silene wahlbergella to be a synonym of Silene uralensis.
