Silene rubella is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the family Caryophyllaceae. This plant grows along dry-farmed fields. Its flowers have red petals, and its calyx is also reddish. The species is native to Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, the countries that formerly made up Yugoslavia, and Western Sahara. Among winter weeds in Egypt, this species is rare.
