About Silene longicilia (Brot.) Otth

Silene longicilia is a flowering plant species that belongs to the family Caryophyllaceae. This species is endemic to Portugal. Its distribution is restricted to west-central Portugal, ranging from Figueira da Foz and Coimbra in the north to Sesimbra and part of Alentejo in the south. Its largest populations occur on limestone soils in Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, Serra de Montejunto, and Serra De Sintra, with one additional isolated population in Serra da Arrábida. It commonly grows in rock crevices, at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 650 metres (2,130 ft).
