Siderone galanthis, commonly known as the scarlet leafwing or red-striped leafwing, is a butterfly species that belongs to the Nymphalidae family. This species is distributed from Mexico to southern Brazil. Its natural habitat includes both deciduous and evergreen forests, occurring at altitudes up to 900 meters. Adult Siderone galanthis have been observed absorbing mineralized moisture from the ground. The larvae of this species have been recorded feeding on Casearia sylvestris and Zuelania quidonia.
