About Sideritis macrostachyos Poir.
Sideritis macrostachyos Poir. has branched woody stems. Its thick, wrinkled leaves are stalked (petiolate) and have finely rounded toothed (crenulate) outlines. Upper leaves are oval, while lower leaves are much larger and more rounded. The upper leaf surface is green, ranging from softly hairy (pubescent) on upper leaves to nearly smooth (glabrous) on lower leaves. The lower leaf surface is white and covered in cottony down. Flowers are arranged in large, stiff, tufted terminal spikes. Individual flowers are stalkless (sessile), grouped in tight whorls that are separated by small bracts. Its seeds are small, brown, and rounded.
