Sidalcea neomexicana is a perennial herb that grows from a cluster of fleshy roots. Its stem is mostly hairless, and reaches 20 to 90 centimeters in height. The plant has fleshy leaves, which may be divided into lobes ranging from shallow to deep. Its inflorescence is a loose cluster of flowers, each with pink petals that grow up to 2 centimeters long. This species is native to the Western United States and northern Mexico. It grows in a wide variety of habitat types. These include chaparral, coastal sage scrub, Yellow Pine Forest, riparian zones, Creosote bush scrub, alkali flats, and other salty substrates.
