Sibbaldianthe bifurca (L.) Kurtto & T.Erikss. plants grow 5 to 20 centimetres (2 to 8 inches) tall. Each leaf measures 3 to 8 cm (1.2 to 3.1 inches) long, and bears 3 to 8 pairs of sessile leaflets that range in shape from elliptic to ovate or obovate, with dimensions of 5โ€“15 ร— 4โ€“8 mm (0.2โ€“0.6 ร— 0.2โ€“0.3 inches). The leaves have membranous brown stipules. Fully open flowers measure 0.7 to 1.5 cm (0.3 to 0.6 inches) across. The species has ovate sepals with pointed apexes, and yellow obovate petals with rounded apexes. Its ovary is covered in soft hairs, while the achenes are smooth. Both flowering and fruiting occur from May to October.
