Seymeria pectinata Pursh can grow up to 75 centimeters, which is approximately 2.6 feet, in height. Its leaves are arranged oppositely, and each leaf is longer than 1 centimeter. When it produces an inflorescence, its flowers are yellow. This species grows in sandy, fire-dependent pine habitats across the southeastern United States. These habitats include flatwoods, longleaf pine sandhill, pine barrens, and scrubby flatwoods.
