Seirarctia is a monotypic moth genus (meaning it contains only one species) in the subfamily Arctiinae. The genus was erected by Alpheus Spring Packard in 1864. Its only species is Seirarctia echo, commonly called the echo moth, which was first described by James Edward Smith in 1797. This species is found in North America, and has specifically been recorded from the U.S. states of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Its typical habitat includes thickets, scrubwoods, and open areas. The wingspan of Seirarctia echo is approximately 45 mm. The larvae feed on a variety of woody plants, including coontie, cabbage palmetto, crotons, lupine, oak, and persimmon.
