About Sedum dendroideum Moc. & Sessé ex DC.
Sedum dendroideum Moc. & Sessé ex DC., commonly called tree stonecrop or false hens-and-chickens, is a shrub-like perennial succulent. It closely resembles the related genus Sempervivum. This species is native to Mexico. It grows well in both warm arid climates and cooler climates, and has become naturalized in the U.S. states of California and Ohio. In traditional Brazilian medicine, fresh leaf juice from this plant is used to treat gastric and inflammatory disorders. A 2005 medical research paper studying this plant found it produced antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects in mouse studies.
