About Sedum anglicum Huds.
Sedum anglicum Huds. is a low-growing perennial plant. It bears stubby, succulent, untoothed alternate leaves, which are most often greyish-green and may turn pink when growing in dry conditions. Its flowers are short-stalked and star-shaped, with a white color that is sometimes tinged pink. Each flower has ten contrasting stamens and five carpels, and the fruits this species produces are red. This species is native to western Europe, where it can be found in Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Great Britain, France, Portugal and Spain. It typically grows on dry rocks, walls and sand dunes, and is often located near the sea. It prefers thin, acidic soils, grows well in rock crevices and on cliffs, and can also be found growing inland on walls and hedge banks. Within Great Britain, it is far more common in the western part of the country than in the east.
