About Scotopteryx peribolata (Hübner, 1817)
Scotopteryx peribolata, commonly known as the Spanish carpet, is a species of moth belonging to the family Geometridae. Its distribution includes Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, and Great Britain. In Great Britain, the species occurs on the Channel Islands, and is occasionally found along the southern coast of mainland Britain. This moth has a wingspan that ranges from 28 to 33 mm. Adult moths are active in flight from August to September. The larvae of Scotopteryx peribolata feed on plant species from the genera Cytisus, Genista, and Ulex. The larvae themselves are greyish in color.
