About Scopulophila rixfordii (Brandegee) Munz & I.M.Johnst.
Scopulophila rixfordii (Brandegee) Munz & I.M.Johnst. produces a branching stem 10 to 30 centimeters long that anchors to its substrate via a taproot. While patches of woolly fibers are present on the stem, the plant is mostly hairless. Small, fleshy green leaves with linear or lance-shaped blades are arranged oppositely along the stem, and each leaf is paired with a small, pointed stipule. Flowers grow from the leaf axils, and are either solitary or grouped into small clusters. The flowers do not have petals; instead, they bear thin white sepals with thin membranous edges.
