Scopula submutata, commonly known as the Mediterranean lace border, is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. This species is distributed across southern Europe, North Africa, and the Near East. It inhabits open, dry grassland and rocky slopes. The wingspan of adult Scopula submutata ranges from 20 to 25 millimetres, or 0.79 to 0.98 inches. The species produces two generations each year, and adult moths can be seen in flight from May through October. The larvae of Scopula submutata feed on plants from the genus Thymus and on Origanum vulgare.
