About Scopula opicata (Fabricius, 1798)

This species, Scopula opicata, has a wingspan of 20 millimetres (0.79 in). The wings and body are white with a light sprinkling of brown scales. The frons is blackish, and the abdomen has distinct brown rings. On the forewings, a prominent oblique brown line extends from the lower angle of the cell to the inner margin near the base. A second brown line runs from the apex of the forewing to the middle of the inner margin. Three submarginal lines diverge from the apex; the outer two of these lines are slightly waved, and a separate marginal line is also present. On the hindwings, prominent sub-basal, antemedial, and medial lines are present, along with two waved postmedial lines and a marginal line.
