About Scopula fibulata (Guenée)
This species, Scopula fibulata (Guenée), has a wingspan of approximately 26–28 millimetres, or 1.0–1.1 inches. The moth is grey, and is thickly sprinkled (irrorated) with fuscous dark scaling. Its frons is black. On the forewings, there are dentate (toothed) antemedial, medial, and postmedial dark lines that have olive-colored edges. The medial line curves outward around a black, olive-edged cell speck, and the postmedial line has larger dentition at vein 6. A crenulate (scalloped) pale or white submarginal line is present; it expands into patches at the middle and above the inner margin, and these patches may be white and prominent, or obscure. The hindwings have a black cell speck, a waved medial line, and a dentate postmedial line. They also have a pale crenulate submarginal line, which sometimes expands into pale patches above the middle and above the inner margin.
