About Scopula emissaria (Walker, 1861)

Scopula emissaria (Walker, 1861) has a wingspan of approximately 28 millimetres (1.1 inches). Its forewings have a pointed apex. This is an ochreous moth sprinkled (irrorated) with fuscous, and is usually suffused with a tan-pink color. The frons is dark brown, and the vertex of the head is whitish. The abdomen has dark segmental bands. On the forewings, traces of an oblique antemedial line and a black discocellular spot are present. An oblique, more or less prominent diffused postmedial band extends from the angle of the postmedial series of oblique black specks, which is recurved toward the costa. On the hindwings, a diffused antemedial band runs from the black discocellular speck to the inner margin. Three slightly waved lines are found on the upper half of the wing, with the first usually being the most prominent. Both the forewings and hindwings have a series of black specks along their margins.
