About Scopula divisaria (Christoph, 1893)
Scopula divisaria has a wingspan of approximately 40 millimeters. Both of its wings have a strongly crenulate outer margin, which forms pointed projections at every vein except vein 5. This is a greyish moth with slight dark brown sprinkling (irroration) and a violet tinge to its coloration. Its frons is blackish, and the vertex of its head is whitish. The forewings have a reddish-brown costa. Below the forewing cell lies a bright copper-blue-green sub-basal patch; one spot sits above this patch inside the cell, and a second spot is also present above this patch in the cell. A quadrate patch is located at the end of the forewing cell, a second quadrate patch extends from below the end cell to the inner margin, and a third quadrate patch sits beyond the cell. A slightly curved dark postmedial line ends at the outer angle in a crimson mark. Two large quadrate green sub-apical patches are visible on the forewings. The hindwings have a large quadrate green patch inside the cell, and a second green patch below the cell that extends to the inner margin and close to the anal angle. A trilobate patch is located beyond the cell on the hindwings. The outer area of the hindwings is purplish, with some red coloration beyond the green patches. A curved postmedial medial line ends in a crimson line at the anal angle, and a crimson subapical line and spot are also present. A dark marginal line is visible on both wings. The ventral side of the wings is pale, and is mostly covered with dark brown suffusion.
