About Scoparia rotuellus Felder, 1875

Scoparia rotuellus has a wingspan of 28–29 mm. Its forewings are light greyish ochreous, speckled (called irrorated) with white below the costa. A black median streak runs from the base of the costa to the disc, and it is margined with clear yellowish ochreous. The first line takes the shape of a sharply defined black streak, also margined with clear yellowish ochreous. The second line is marked by a row of black dots, and an additional terminal row of black dots is present. Its hindwings are a very pale ochreous grey. This moth species is endemic to New Zealand. It has been observed on the North Island, South Island, Stewart Island, Campbell Island, and Chatham Island. It is considered a localised species, meaning it is restricted to specific localities within these islands. Recorded observation altitudes for this species range from sea level up to around 1,200 m.
