About Scoparia chalicodes Meyrick, 1884
Scoparia chalicodes is a moth species that belongs to the family Crambidae. It was first named by Edward Meyrick in 1884, and Meyrick published a more complete description of the species in 1885. This species is endemic to New Zealand. Its wingspan measures between 15.5 and 16.5 mm. The forewings of Scoparia chalicodes are light ochreous-grey, and are speckled with white. The veins are partially and irregularly marked with blackish lines. The first line on the forewings is pale greyish-ochreous, with indistinct dark edges. The second line on the forewings is very indistinct, while the subterminal line is cloudy and whitish. The hindwings are grey-whitish. Adult moths of this species have been recorded in flight between the months of January and March.
