About Scleromitrion verticillatum (L.) R.J.Wang

Scleromitrion verticillatum is a perennial plant species native to South and Southeast Asia. Carl Linnaeus originally described this species in 1767 under the name Oldenlandia verticillata L. After its original description, the species was long classified as a member of the genus Hedyotis. In 2014, R.J.Wang reclassified the species and moved it into the genus Scleromitrion, giving the currently accepted scientific name Scleromitrion verticillatum (L.) R.J.Wang. The chemical compound kaempferitrin can be isolated from the leaves of this plant.
