Schoenus apogon Roem. & Schult., commonly called common bog-rush, is a species of sedge that is native to eastern Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. It is a tufted, annual grass-like plant that grows up to 55 centimetres tall. This species is most often found growing in seasonally wet habitats. Schoenus apogon has variable form, and the current classification of the species may actually include more than one distinct taxon. The specific epithet apogon comes from Greek, and translates to "no beard".
