About Schlechtendalia luzulifolia Less.
Schlechtendalia is a genus of South American plants in the tribe Barnadesieae of the family Asteraceae. In Portuguese, this plant is called bolão de ouro, which translates to "gold bullion". Schlechtendalia is a perennial herbaceous plant, with rigid, linear, pointed-tipped leaves. The corollas of its florets are yellow and of the subbilobiate type: four lobes are merged into a strap, split into teeth more than half their depth, while one lobe (facing the center of the flowerhead) remains free. This species flowers from September to December, and its fruits ripen in January or February. Only one species in the genus is known: Schlechtendalia luzulifolia Less. It is native to southern Brazil (Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay (Cerro Largo, Maldonado, Montevideo, Rocha), and northern Argentina (Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos). This species has sixteen chromosomes (2n=16).
