Its known range extends from southwestern Utah, as well as western and southeastern Arizona, westward to southern California and southern Nevada. Most adult individuals of this species have been recorded between March and April, though there are also verified records of adults from May, September through November, and January through February. The larvae of Schinia niveicosta feed on the plant Palafoxia linearis.
