Schinia gaurae, commonly known as the clouded crimson, is a moth that belongs to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by James Edward Smith in 1797. It is distributed across North America, ranging from Illinois westward across southern Saskatchewan and Alberta, and extends south to Florida, Texas, and Arizona, continuing further south into Mexico. The wingspan of this moth measures 30 to 32 mm. Adult moths are active on the wing from June to August, with timing varying by location. In northern regions, Schinia gaurae produces one generation per year, while in Missouri, there are two generations annually. The larvae of this moth feed on plants of the Gaura genus.
