Scaphinotus interruptus, commonly called Ménétriés' snail-eating beetle, is a species of ground beetle. It belongs to the family Carabidae and the suborder Adephaga, which is known as ground and water beetles. This species is found in North America, specifically in the mountains and foothills of California and Oregon. Adult individuals of this species are brachypterous. Their bodies are black, with narrow heads and wide elytra. Fully grown adults can reach a length between 13 and 20 millimetres, or 0.51 and 0.79 inches.
