Satyrium fuliginosum, commonly known as the sooty hairstreak, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Lycaenidae. This butterfly is found in western North America, ranging from British Columbia in the north to central California in the south, and eastward to Wyoming and northern Colorado. Adult sooty hairstreaks are active on the wing from July to August. Adult individuals feed on flower nectar, while the larvae feed on plants from the genus Lupinus.
