Sargocentron suborbitale, commonly called the tinsel squirrelfish, is a species of squirrelfish in the genus Sargocentron.

Distribution Range

This species is distributed in the East Pacific Ocean, ranging from the Gulf of California to Ecuador, and also occurs around the Galapagos Islands.

Daytime Habitat Behavior

Adult tinsel squirrelfish hide in small caves or rock crevices during the day.

Nocturnal Feeding Behavior

At night, they leave their shelters to hunt and feed on small crustaceans in the intertidal zone.

Reproduction Mode

This species reproduces via oviparity.
