About Sanicula arguta Greene ex J.M.Coult. & Rose

Sanicula arguta is a perennial herb that grows from a thick taproot shaped like a turnip. It is mostly an erect plant, reaching a maximum height of half a meter. Its leaves grow up to 10 centimeters long, and are divided into multiple lobes with sharp teeth along their edges. The inflorescence consists of one or more heads that contain both bisexual and male-only flowers, which have tiny, curving golden yellow petals. The plant produces prickly fruits that measure roughly half a centimeter in length.
