Sandava xylistis, commonly known as the rusty snout, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first described by Charles Swinhoe in 1900. This species can be found in the Australian states of Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia, as well as the Australian Capital Territory. The wingspan of adult Sandava xylistis moths measures approximately 20 mm. The moths are active in flight during the months of October, November, March, and April.
