About Salvia eremostachya Jeps.

Salvia eremostachya, commonly known as rose sage, sand sage, or Californian desert sage, is a perennial shrub. It is native to the western edge of the Colorado Desert. This plant grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet (0.61 to 0.91 meters). Its flowers measure 0.75 inches (1.9 cm) across, and range in color from blue to rose to nearly white, growing alongside purplish green bracts. The flowers are arranged in whorled clusters, and bloom between April and November. The species' specific epithet, "eremostachya", means "desert stachys" in Greek, and refers to this plant's similarity to species in the genus Stachys.
