About Salvia chinensis Benth.

Salvia chinensis, commonly called Chinese sage, is an annual plant native to multiple provinces of China. It grows in forests, grassy tufts on hillsides, and grassy tufts on plains, at elevations between 100 and 500 meters (330 to 1,640 feet). Its stems can be either erect or prostrate, and the plant reaches a total height of 20 to 60 centimeters (7.9 to 23.6 inches). The inflorescences are made up of 6-flowered verticillasters arranged in terminal racemes or panicles, and the corolla measures 1 cm (0.39 in) long and is blue-purple or purple in color.
