Salix prolixa Andersson, a species of willow, is commonly known as MacKenzie's willow. It is native to western North America, ranging from Alaska and northwestern Canada to the high mountains of California and Utah. This plant grows in moist habitats including riverbanks, springs, and marshes. It is a shrub that reaches 1 to 5 meters in height. Its leaves are lance-shaped or pointed oval, can grow up to 15 centimeters long, are hairless with waxy undersides, and have wide stipules attached. Its flowers are borne in inflorescences called catkins.
