About Sagittaria kurziana Glück
Sagittaria kurziana Glück, commonly known as springtape and strap-leaf sagittaria, is a perennial aquatic plant. It can grow up to 250 centimetres (8 feet) tall. This species produces long, narrow, flat leaves that float on the water surface; leaves can reach up to 250 cm in length, but rarely grow more than 15 millimetres (1⁄2 inch) wide. These leaves grow into large, dense masses of ribbon-like foliage that sways back and forth with water currents. The plant's inflorescences also float on the water surface, and its white flowers are very often submerged. The species is native to Florida, and is naturalized in the Mariana Islands. It grows along large springs, most commonly those with high sulfur content, and along the banks of watercourses located downstream from these springs.
