About Sabal yapa C.Wright ex Becc.

Sabal yapa is a palm species native to Belize, Guatemala, western Cuba, and the Yucatan Peninsula region of Mexico, which includes the states of Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo. This species favors limestone-derived calcareous soils. It is commonly classified as a palmetto palm because it produces costapalmate fronds, a frond form that falls between the fan fronds of fan palms and the leaf structure of feather-leaved palms.
