About Sabal mauritiiformis (H.Karst.) Griseb. & H.Wendl.

Sabal mauritiiformis, the scientific name of this plant, is a fan palm that grows with a single, slender stem. Its stem is typically 15 to 20 metres (49 to 66 ft) tall and measures 15โ€“20 centimetres (6โ€“8 in) across in diameter. A mature plant holds around 10 to 25 leaves, with each individual leaf containing 90 to 150 leaflets. The plant produces branched inflorescences that are longer than its leaves. These inflorescences carry fruit that range in shape from pear-shaped to globose, are black in color, and are 0.8โ€“1.1 centimetres (0.3โ€“0.4 in) in diameter.
