Each stem bears a single yellow flower head 8–15 mm (0.31–0.59 in) in diameter, which is composed of numerous florets around 7 mm (0.28 in) long.

Bract Characteristics

Its bracts are arranged in 5 to 8 rows, are dull green, and occasionally have toothed or somewhat jagged edges.

Flowering Period

Flowering occurs mostly in summer.

Fruit Description

The fruit is a narrow, brown, obovoid cypsela around 1.5 mm (0.059 in) long, with several bristles 3 mm (0.12 in) long.

Common Name and Distribution

This species, commonly called button wrinklewort, grows in grassland and woodland habitats in New South Wales, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory.
