About Russula foetens Pers.

Scientific name: Russula foetens Pers. When young, the cap of this species is hemispherical and very slimy; it quickly becomes convex in shape, with color ranging from honey yellow to ochre brown, and can reach up to 10 cm (4 in) in diameter. Both the gills and spores are pale cream. The sturdy stem is white, or blotchy yellowish brown in color. The flesh has a strong acrid odor; when the mushroom is old, the flesh develops a fishy smell and an unpleasant bad taste.
