About Russula crassotunicata Singer
Russula crassotunicata, commonly called the rubbery-capped russula, is a North American fungus that belongs to the mushroom genus Russula. Rolf Singer formally described this species in 1938, from a fungal specimen collected in Washington state, United States. This fungus is mostly white in color, and it often grows on rotted wood. It has been confirmed to act as a host for the parasitic fungus Dendrocollybia racemosa.
