Rupela tinctella is a species of moth that belongs to the Crambidae family. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1863. Its known distribution includes the US states of Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas, as well as Mexico, Cuba, the Guianas, Trinidad, Paraná (Brazil), Paraguay, and northern Argentina. Males have a wingspan between 20 and 34 mm, while females have a wingspan between 25 and 42 mm. For males, both the forewings and hindwings are pale brown or brownish ochreous. Female wing color ranges from sordid white to pure white. Adult Rupela tinctella have been recorded in flight from March through October each year.
