About Rumex stenophyllus Ledeb.
Rumex stenophyllus Ledeb. is a flowering plant species in the knotweed family, commonly called narrow-leaf dock. It is native to Eurasia, and has been introduced to parts of North America, where it grows as a roadside weed. This species occupies moist and wet habitats, and is often found growing in areas with saline soils. It is a perennial herb that grows an erect stem from a thick taproot. The stem is usually 40 to 80 centimeters tall, though specimens are known to grow well over one meter in height. Its leaves can reach up to 30 centimeters in length, and are typically lance-shaped with curled edges. The inflorescence is made up of an interrupted series of flower clusters, each holding 20 to 25 individual flowers. Every flower hangs from a pedicel, and usually has six tepals. The three inner tepals are the largest; they are triangular, toothed along the edges, and bear tubercles.
