About Rudbeckia subtomentosa Pursh

Rudbeckia subtomentosa, commonly known as sweet coneflower, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. This species is naturally found in the central United States. It is an erect herbaceous perennial that grows up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) tall. From late summer through fall, it produces daisy-like flowers with brown centers and yellow petals. This plant produces the best flowers when grown in a sheltered location that receives full sun. In cultivation in the United Kingdom, the cultivar 'Loofahsa Wheaten Gold' has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
