About Rudbeckia grandiflora var. alismifolia (Torr. & A.Gray) Cronquist
Rudbeckia grandiflora var. alismifolia (Torr. & A.Gray) Cronquist is a perennial flowering plant that grows from a woody base, reaching an approximate height of 120 cm. It produces relatively large inflorescences, which hold 12 to 25 yellow ray flowers; each individual ray flower measures around 3 to 5 cm long. This variety blooms from late spring through summer. It is native to North America, where it occurs primarily in the south-central United States. A disjunct, naturally occurring population of this variety is also found in northwest Georgia. All other small, isolated populations of the plant located further east in North America are thought to have been established by human introductions. Its typical natural habitat consists of prairies and open woodlands.
