Rubus trivialis Michx., commonly called southern dewberry, is a flowering plant species belonging to the rose family Rosaceae. It is native to the southern United States and northern Mexico. This plant is a perennial herb that blooms from March to April. It can be distinguished from the northern dewberry, Rubus flagellaris, by its hispid stems. Southern dewberry has been recorded growing in multiple natural habitats including tidal marshes, longleaf pinelands, and coastal hammocks, as well as in disturbed habitats like roadsides.
