About Rubus neomexicanus A.Gray

Rubus neomexicanus A.Gray is a branching, prickle-free shrub that can reach up to 3 meters (10 feet) in length. Its leaves are simple (non-compound), with blades that are either heart-shaped or egg-shaped. This species produces white flowers and red fruits, and has a documented chromosome count of 2n = 14. This plant has only been found in the southwestern United States, specifically in the states of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. It grows in forested riparian zones, canyons, and slopes, at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 2,600 metres (4,600 to 8,500 ft).
