Rubus bifrons Vest ex Tratt., commonly called European blackberry or Himalayan blackberry, is a European flowering plant species belonging to the rose family. It is widespread across most of Europe, and has become naturalized in scattered areas of North America. Some taxonomic treatments include the species R. armeniacus within R. bifrons. This plant is a spiny shrub that grows up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall. Its stems are biennial, arching, and sometimes creeping. The leaves are palmately compound, bearing either three or five leaflets. Its white or pink flowers grow in large clusters at the ends of branches, and these clusters can sometimes hold up to 100 flowers. The fruits produced by this plant are black.
